About the project

Improve control systems and invoicing processes based on business requirements for public electricity companies in LATAM focusing in research, design and software development.

Why were we hired?

To address business-related needs such as inputting and processing business transactions, defining and applying complex price rules, determining invoicing calculations for each client automatically, processing vast volumes of information and defining invoice information for the ERP system.

Goals

Challenges

Working on an existing system that was already highly complex and which handled sensitive invoicing and payments information, while updating app menus, modules, dashboards and interactions.
We sought to implement robust profile security levels for employees: admin, director, middle manager and standard.

How have we worked?

Design thinking. We conducted various meetings with the client to get a full grasp on their existing system. We developed several prototypes in various levels of fidelity, testing and iterating at each step based on client feedback to have them ready to the developers team.

The team consisted of: UX/UI designer, Frontend developer, Backend developer, QA Tester

The solution

We revisited and restructured the information architecture and create a step-by-step wizard in order to improve the user experience and create simple and efficient interfaces.

We design and developed a batch input system to facilitate transactions management as well as integrate an invoice rules model that ensure a correct billing process in compliance of laws on each country.

We also develop an automation system to process for invoice calculations and control. Finally, we enabled the app to interface with the client's ERP.
